Eldon Ward – Acrylic on Panels
My focus is on graphically vibrant, but contemplative, often large-scale acrylic paintings on panels I make from recycled materials: primarily salvaged hollow core doors and scrap lumber. I often merge abstract and representational elements and encourage the viewer to think beyond the surface to the less certain worlds beyond.
My paintings have tended for many years toward a ‘southwest’ flavor and recent works have been increasingly influenced by Southern Arizona’s environment and cultures.
My works have been in dozens of juried exhibits and have won a number of awards.
