Nancy Cressler – Fused Dichroic Glass
Nancy Cressler has been enjoying fusing glass for over twenty years. Her artwork, often incorporating brilliant dichroic-coated glass, includes decorative glass sculptures, plates as well as her unique jewelry. She has recently started painting floral designs on glass which is fired on for permanence (notably her “Florence series Earrings” (See above)).
She has been fortunate enough to study under some of the pioneers of fused glass including Gil Reynolds, Peter McGrain, Avery Anderson & Newy Fagan. Nancy has attended glass workshops at Snow Farm Art Center in Massachusetts and The Glass Craft Expo in Las Vegas. She also has given talks about kiln-fired glass techniques.
Nancy was on the Board of Directors of the Craftworkers’ Guild and a juried member of Valley Artisan’s Gallery while living in New Hampshire. She currently is a juried member of Desert Artisans’ Gallery in Tucson and a juried member of Arizona Designer Craftsmen and a member of the Tubac Center of the Arts, Tubac, Arizona. Recently she was honored to have two of her cast glass pieces accepted into the National Show, “From the Earth”, at the Tubac Center of the Arts, Tubac, Arizona (Tom Philabaum, juror).
