Nancy Green – Abstracts
Nancy Green began painting in 2001, following a career as a librarian and teacher in the San Francisco Bay Area. She moved to Torrey, Utah, where she was inspired by the geology and geography of the Colorado Plateau. Nancy studied with some of Utah’s finest painters, and showed watercolor and oil landscapes, oil-and-cold-wax-medium abstracts, and monotype prints at Gallery 24. Her work was shown in juried shows throughout the state, winning awards in 2004 and 2007, and in single- and multi-artist exhibitions.
Nancy moved to Tucson in early 2018, and is enjoying watching her work change in response to the new environment of the Sonoran desert. She is a contributor to the website Resources for Cold Wax Painting and the book Cold Wax Medium: Techniques, Concepts & Conversations, by Rebecca Crowell and Jerry McLaughlin.
