Jan Thompson – Watercolor & Acrylic Painting, Collage

Jan, originally from Wisconsin and an original member of Desert Artisans’, has enjoyed painting as far back as she can remember.  She received her Art Ed. Degree at the University of Wisconsin at Madison and loved teaching art to grades K-12.

But it wasn’t until she came to Tucson and fell in love with the desert, its beautiful colors, plants, and native peoples that her career as a professional painter took off.  She enjoys the spontaneity of watercolor, and also all the creative applications of acrylic and collage.
