Saturday, February 22nd
Demo times: 10:30, 11:00, 11:30, 12:00 (free to attend)
Metal clay is a revolutionary new jewelry medium that combines microscopic particles of silver metal with an organic binder, and water, to produce a metal “clay” that transforms into a solid piece of pure silver when fired in a kiln. Small pieces can also be fired with an ordinary butane torch. Bronze, copper, and steel clays are available as well.
Lyle Rayfield, one of our member jewelry artists, uses metal clay as her medium of choice. Come watch and listen as Lyle talks about metal clay and demonstrates the remarkable transformation of silver clay to beautiful silver jewelry.
