"Color of Winter" New Show Reception
Winter in Tucson doesn’t arrive in shades of gray—it comes in quiet desert golds, sage greens, cool purples, long shadows, and soft, luminous skies. Color of Winter invites artists to interpret the season as it unfolds in the Southwest: crisp mornings, rosy mountain light, brittle cholla spines catching the sun, migrating birds, ripening citrus, subtle blooms, and the serene hush of the desert after rain.
This exhibition will showcase the unexpected palette of a Sonoran winter—cool turquoise skies, pale peach sunsets, silvery ocotillo, the blue-violet folds of the Catalina Mountains, and the warm glow of adobe against chilled air. From delicate botanical studies to vibrant landscapes, wildlife, ceramics, glass, fiber, and mixed media, each artist brings a fresh interpretation of winter’s beauty in our region.
Patrons will discover a season expressed through color, texture, and mood—an invitation to slow down, breathe deeply, and experience the quiet brilliance of winter in the desert.
Whether you love the softness of watercolor, the depth of oil, the sparkle of glass, or the warmth of handcrafted jewelry and ceramics, Color of Winter will offer work that feels peaceful, elegant, and distinctly Southwestern.

“Summer Daze” Opening Reception
Summer in Tucson doesn’t drift in quietly—it arrives in a blaze of heat, color, and mirage-like beauty. Summer Daze invites artists of Desert Artisans Gallery to capture the feeling of our desert summers: the shimmer rising off the pavement, the hazy blue mountains melting into the sky, the monsoon build-up, the sharp shadows, and those slow, dreamy afternoons when everything softens into gold.
This exhibition celebrates the way summer transforms the Sonoran Desert into a place of heightened color and heightened mood. Expect radiant landscapes, bold abstracts, cool blues, fiery oranges, sunlit glass, textured ceramics, and artwork that feels both lively and languid—just like Tucson in July.
Patrons will find pieces that evoke the heat, humor, wonder, and dreamy daze of summer in Southern Arizona.
“Tonic & Gin, where the art talk begins” Opening Reception
Join us for Toni & Gin, a relaxed evening of conversation, creativity, and connection at Desert Artisans Gallery. Enjoy refreshments as Toni guides an open, engaging discussion with several of our artists about their newest work—what inspired it, how it was made, and the stories behind the colors, textures, and ideas.
This is a casual, fun way to hear directly from the artists, ask questions, learn something new, and see their work in a fresh, personal light. Whether you’re an art lover, a collector, or simply curious, Toni & Gin promises an evening of insight, laughter, and lively conversation.

“Fall Classic” Opening Reception
Autumn in Tucson arrives not with red leaves, but with fiery October sunsets, golden foothill grasses, clear post-monsoon skies, and that first cool breeze that reminds us the desert is changing seasons. Fall Classic celebrates these unmistakable Southern Arizona moments — from migrating birds circling back through the wetlands to the warm glow that settles over the Catalinas at day’s end.
Our artists bring the season to life through rich color, texture, and mood: earthy pottery, sunlit landscapes, warm mixed media, and glass and fiber pieces inspired by orchard harvests, fall festivals, and Tucson’s vibrant October traditions.
It’s the Southwestern autumn we know and love — soft light, warm tones, and the quiet beauty of fall in the desert.
Open Studio Tour - 3 Day Event
The Open Studio Tour, hosted by the Tucson Arts Foundation, is one of the most anticipated arts events of the year—when thousands of art lovers drive across the region to meet artists, see their workspaces, and experience creativity up close. For Desert Artisans Gallery, it’s the perfect opportunity to welcome visitors who want the richness of the tour without the driving.
Many of our artists don’t have home studios open to the public, so during the Open Studio Tour weekend they bring their creativity right into the gallery with live demonstrations, in-person conversations, and special works on display.
With just one stop, visitors can meet multiple artists, learn about their process, watch them work, and enjoy the full range of art represented at Desert Artisans—all in a single, easy, air-conditioned location.
This is one of our most popular weekends of the year, and a wonderful way to discover new artists, ask questions, and see art being made in real time.
