Tim Bhajjan’s Watercolor Art

Tim Bhajjan is a watercolor artist who has lived in Arizona since 2018. He is a Signature Member and Saguaro Fellow at the Southern Arizona Watercolor Guild (SAWG) in Tucson, Arizona.

Tim has been painting with watercolors for over twenty years, and professionally for the past seven. His first solo exhibition, Desert of Hope, was held at the Yuma Art Center in 2019. Since then, he has exhibited in numerous shows at the SAWG Gallery and the Desert Artisans Gallery (DAG) in Tucson, AZ. Tim’s work has also been displayed at Arizona State University’s Watts College in Phoenix, and at the Intersection Gallery in Gilbert, AZ.

In 2022, Tim’s painting Fargo won Best of Show at the Last Impressions show at the SAWG Gallery. His piece Red Hot was selected for the cover of Those Who Are Gone, a book by author Lawrence Lihosit.

In 2023, Tim’s painting Juicer was juried into the Arizona Aqueous XXXVII show at the Tubac Center of the Arts. That same year, he contributed as a co-author to the book The Artist Haven, which became a #1 international bestseller on Amazon.

Tim has studied with prominent watercolor artists, including Mary Whyte, Tony Couch, Stephen Quiller, Ted Nuttall, Marney Ward, and Graham Berry. Through this training, he has developed a personal style that blends realism and abstraction.

Tim is a versatile watercolor artist. His works include landscapes; florals; portraits; and Lifescapes (biographical art), which depicts meaningful moments from a person’s life.

Tim was selected to be a 2026 recipient of the Tifft Arts and Sciences Heritage Fund Artistic Development Grant.

Tim is a member of Desert Artisans Gallery (DAG), an artist cooperative in Tucson. He enjoys being part of this creative community and regularly exhibits and sells his work at DAG.

Tim also teaches beginning and advanced watercolor courses in various locations, including the SAWG Gallery.
