Penny Buckley Artist Statement

As an abstract/nonrepresentational artist I begin by creating a series of hand pulled prints to use in my abstract collages mounted on wood. Each series of prints is an exploration of the interaction of shape, color, and pattern. I use simple collage techniques to connect the original prints into a design that tells a story, evokes a feeling, or invites a closer look. The result is a unique work that demonstrates a strong sense of color, harmony, and flow.
